Empowering Education Through Access: Bridging the Digital Divide One Device at a Time
In Canada, socioeconomic status continues to be a barrier to educational access, with ongoing education cuts only widening this divide. Many students are left sharing a single device among siblings or relying on their parents’ phones to complete school assignments. Though schools may loan Chromebooks, these devices often lack essential features like video calling, limiting students’ ability to fully participate in digital learning. For families balancing work schedules or facing transportation costs, even library computers are not a viable solution. These obstacles not only hinder students' academic success but also limit their development of essential digital literacy and computer skills.

To bridge this gap, Starts With One provides free laptops, printers, and other devices to families in the GTA facing financial hardship. Since 2020, we've distributed 9 laptops and printers to students in our E-Learning Initiative, but our waitlist grows each day, highlighting the urgent need for support. With your help, we aim to provide 5 more laptops and 10 printers in the coming months to families in need. Your donation can empower students to excel academically, open doors to career-building opportunities, and even support parents pursuing further education.

We provide essential devices, including laptops, tablets, and printers, to families facing financial barriers. This enables students to complete schoolwork, access digital resources, and develop vital tech skills.
Supply of Educational Essentials
Beyond technology, we’re expanding to provide school supplies like stationery, backpacks, and other essentials, helping students start each school year prepared and confident.
