This fully subsidized trip gives students enrolled in SWO’s E-Learning Initiative the chance to explore marine life, science, and conservation in a fun, hands-on environment beyond tutoring.

Get ready for a day of exploration, learning, and
connection at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada!

You will be able to discover incredible marine life, watch the Ray Bay Dive Show, as well as attend the interactive Shark Q&A. You’ll experience the aquarium like never before!

The day will wrap up with lunch, networking, games, and reflection so that you can build new friendships, share ideas, and create lasting memories with the SWO community.

After the Summer Learning Field Trip at Ripley’s Aquarium, Starts With One is excited to host a special SWO Community Picnic on Saturday, August 8, 2026!

This event is a chance to bring together the amazing people who make up our SWO community — volunteers, tutors, Executive Team members, placement students, partners, students, and families.

Join us for an afternoon of FREE food, games, activities, and meaningful connection as we celebrate the relationships we’ve built and the collective impact of our community.

This is our way of saying thank you for all the hard work, dedication, and care you bring to SWO.

📍 Location: Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre Dance Studio
🍽️ Lunch, snacks, drinks, and activities will be provided

✨Calling all SWO students, parents and families✨

Starts With One: Summer Learning at Ripley’s Aquarium is an in-person summer learning initiative bringing together SWO students, families, and parents for a shared educational experience beyond the virtual tutoring space.

Participants will spend the day exploring marine life, conservation, and science through interactive exhibits at Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. This experience is all about making learning fun, accessible, and community-centered during the summer months.

Why? Because we believe learning should extend beyond the classroom and be accessible to every student, regardless of financial or logistical barriers. This fully subsidized trip gives students and families the opportunity to explore, connect, and grow together as part of the Starts With One community.
